Deputy Leader of Barnet Council Comments on London Riots
The Deputy Leader of Barnet Council, Councillor Daniel Thomas, said: “There was some trouble in Barnet last night, but nothing like the scale of other parts of London. It’s clear the next few days could be very difficult.
Our community is our responsibility. It’s important we all talk with young people and help to protect them from being caught up, even as a spectator, in a potential disorder.
They need to understand that if they do something that damages the community, or hurts another person, they will be held accountable for their actions.
The general advice we have from police is that people should be home early over the next few evenings and that parents should make sure they know where their children and young people are.
If you see anything suspicious please contact their Safer Neighbourhood Teams.”
