Don't Miss the Barnet Premises Road Show - Book Now!!
Date: Tuesday 27 March 2012
Time: 10am – 3.30pm
Venue: Rainbow Centre, Dollis Valley Drive Barnet EN5 2UN
The recent Localism Act including the “Right to Bid” offer numerous opportunities as well as challenges for voluntary and community groups around premises. How will it work? What does it mean for you and your users? Will it enable you to get your own premises? Will it help you solve your premises problems?
- have your questions answered by expert organisations including Locality, Community Matters, Ethical Property Foundation, and 3 Space who will give presentations and/or run workshops;
- get an update from the council about local planning and thinking around community spaces;
- get training on access for disabled people; find out about successful community hubs and centres in Barnet to get inspired
- see the Rainbow Centre as a life example of a centre which has been taken over by a consortium of local groups – see a community hub in action!
At the end of the event you will have a much clearer idea about what the new rights in the Localism Act offer you and what your next steps should be, as well as where to get further help or support for improving your own premises.
