CommUNITY Barnet Seeking an Interim CEO
Hours: 4 days per week
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 pro-ratad annual salary equivalent
Contract: Immediate start to 31 December 2012 / short-term freelance contract
We are seeking an interim CEO who will guide the organisation through a significant period of change. The local authority, our primary funder, is transforming into a “commissioning council” with the majority of services being delivered by external contractors. The council is also moving away from a model of funding free development support for local groups towards a focus on promoting social innovation, engaged citizenship, self-help and social enterprise.
CommUNITY Barnet is preparing for this by building capability in key growth areas such as engagement and consultation; increasing its income mix with a focus on CSR/corporate fundraising and traded income; and upgrading technology to drive down operational costs. As part of this, the organisation is set to move premises during the summer
The current climate and local changes are also posing significant challenges for the working relationship between the local authority/strategic partnership and the local sector, and our role as advocate is growing in complexity and importance.
