Voluntary & Community Sector Survey - Commissioning
Ruth Mulandi, CEO of CommUNITY Barnet writes:
Dear colleague,
You may be aware that commissioning is well underway in Barnet, with a major focus on improving the economy. In the voluntary and community sector we have traditionally regarded ourselves as providing major social benefits but we have been less good at portraying the economic benefits we bring to Barnet.
At CommUNITY Barnet, we think we need to create an opportunity to demonstrate that we are actually part of the economic solution here and to do this we need some information from you around commissioning.
When you click on the survey link below you will find a few questions to answer. The answers you provide would be really valuable as we would like to feed the information back to the commissioners and procurement team of London Borough of Barnet.
We want to be able to demonstrate:
1. The level of voluntary and community sector involvement of commissioning (page 1)
2. Any arising issues with contracts (page 2)
3. VCS experience of tendering in Barnet (page 3), and market testing methods used by local authority (page 4)
4. VCS support needs to be able to actively tender (page 5)
In summary we want to demonstrate that what we do contributes to the Borough Strategy and the Local Area Agreement. This is really important as so much of what we do is not taken into account.
The questionnaire should take approximately 15 minutes. Please answer them as best you can by Friday 19th March 2010. We will then be presenting these findings to the Barnet council and NHS commissioners the following week. The results will also be available to all organisations.
Kindest regards
Ruth Mulandi
