August is CommUNITY Barnet development month

One to one session
27 July 2010

These events have been developed in response to the increasing need for organisations to engage and promote themselves and their services. The workshops, surgeries and learning session have been designed to meet the needs of staff, management committees and volunteers in voluntary and community organisations in Barnet.

These will be delivered by two of our partners from our Lottery funded Organisational Development Project, the Black Training & Enterprise Group (BTEG) and the Black Neighbourhood Renewal and Regeneration Network (BNRRN).

On offer are two practical workshops in Quality and Social Enterprises as well as two surgery days offering 45mins long one to one sessions.  During the one to one sessions, you will have the opportunity to discuss your project ideas, find out about your contracts, get a critique on your funding applications, advice on business plans and how to monitor and evaluate your project.

We are also providing three days on "Stronger Voices - Representation". The National Association for Voluntary and Community Action Improving Local Partnerships (ILP) unit has produced five unique learning units to help third sector representatives who are active within local public decision-making structures, to develop their knowledge and skills to feel more confident and supported in their role. The final session will cover the Big Society - will it empower people and communities?

The programme is great value and Community Barnet is able to offer these sessions to members at a nominal fee of £15 or £25 depending on the size of your organisation. This fee is to cover the cost of administering your booking.  The commercial charge for such events would be around £200 - so please make the most of these opportunities.
