Children and Young People's Service

Welcome to the Children and Young People’s Network CommUNITY Barnet. If you have signed up with us you are now part of a network of over 400 voluntary and community groups working with children and young people in Barnet.

What we do:

We are the specialist team at CommUNITY Barnet, providing support and information to all children and young people's services in the Borough. The service provides 5 interconnected 'programmes':

Sharing Information
Participation and Children’s Voice
Barnet Council for Voluntary Youth Services
Safeguarding and Early Intervention Support
Barnet Supplementary School Forum

Sharing Information:

There are at least 200 voluntary and community groups working with children and young people in Barnet. The team is responsible for making connections between them and with the statutory authorities to improve the lives of children and families in Barnet. Our service provides the following:

Children and Young People’s Network Meetings
Email Bulletins
Training and briefing events
Representation on strategic groups

Can we help you to help them?

If we can't help then we can put you in touch with other groups who can. This could be:

A family new to the area looking for things to do and get involved with.
Help with issues around access to services.
Council staff wanting to find extra support for a family.
Schools looking for a partner organisation to run extended activities or add to the cultural enrichment.
Faith groups looking to develop interfaith work.
