1. Finance Officer (Maternity Cover): £20,000, pro-rata 2 days per week

We are looking for a Finance Officer to take charge of the financial health of CB by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements.

CB is a national charity based in Barnet and delivering programmes across London.  We have an aspiration to grow bigger by leading innovative partnerships, harnessing the creativity of residents and supporting community organisations.

The Role 

You must be familiar with audits, invoices and budget preparations. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest in managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. You should also have excellent organisational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks. You will also be required to undertake Independent Examinations and provide community accountancy for organisations as part of CB’s ‘paid for service’.  You must be a member of the Association of Charity Independent Examiners. 

Ultimately, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and procedures.

The role will report to the Finance Manager and be part of the Business Development Team.  This role is to provide maternity cover from July 2017 for a maximum period of 12 months.

This is an excellent role for people interested in working in the charity finance sector.

We are looking for a talented Finance Manager who will provide strategic financial advice to CommUNITY Barnet’s executive leadership team; specialist professional and technical expertise in the interpretation and application of finance policy to support and influence financial planning, management and decision making to ensure that CommUNITY Barnet (CB) meets all its financial obligations and demonstrates financial probity.

CB is a national charity based in Barnet and delivering programmes across London.  We have an aspiration to grow bigger by leading innovative partnerships, harnessing the creativity of residents and supporting community organisations.

CB currently supports over 800 voluntary and community organisations who deliver a range of specialist services to some of our most vulnerable or marginalised communities. Our role is to support and enable these organisations to deliver high quality, cost effective services. We lead a number of partnerships delivering health and social care activities where we are the prime contractor.  To support our growth and development ambitions we have successfully applied for small pots of funding to deliver innovative projects and to build our track record of delivery.
