Learning Disabilities Network

This is a strong and influential network and the organisations and carers who attend are passionate about their users and the development of services. The chair represents the network on  the Learning Disability Partnership Board ensuring maximum involvement in decision making and future planning.

Actions from our last meeting on 29 January 2013 

Heather Bates from London Council consulted with the network to gather their views on the proposed categorisation of housing services for people with learning disabilities.

Actions from our last meeting on 27 November 2012 

Jeremy Nixey from My Care My Home attended to talk about the free advice and support service to those in need of care but not entitled to benefits.  This is a service that has been commissioned by Barnet Council.

Julia Mlambo from Community Barnet gave an update on the Community Safety and Engagement Group and invited people to join the Steering Group.  The Group works with the police, council and community to improve safety in the Borough.  The Network gave feedback on how to develop further actions on hate crime awareness, after the successful conference held earlier this year.
