Organisational Development

COMMUNITY BARNET has successfully secured Big Lottery funding, to continue resourcing the organisational development service provision to Barnet's voluntary and community organisations over the next 5 years.

The Organisational Development Project will address the priority needs of the local voluntary and community sector including governance, quality, strategy and representation.

So, what does this mean for Barnet's voluntary and community organisations?

The Organisational Development Project has three distinct elements.

Firstly, it will provide a comprehensive organisational development service including:

• advice sessions, consultancies, and health checks
• developing electronic resources and toolkits
• a quality accreditation programme

Secondly, the Project will build on and establish new partnerships to:

• provide specialist capacity building and support to VCOs and communities not accessing COMMUNITY BARNET's support programme; and
• developing effective partnerships with specialist infrastructure organisations,

Thirdly, the Project will map local communities, groups and needs on a regular basis to increase our, knowledge of local communities and the local sector to:

• enable us to better target and tailor services
• engage all communities are able to influence the design of local services
• enable groups to engage in collaborative working, and
• promote community engagement, development and cohesion
