Volunteer Centre Barnet supports and promotes good practices related to volunteer management. We work with various voluntary and community groups practices related to volunteer management, develop volunteering opportunities and offer brokerage service to the residents of the London Borough of Barnet (aged 18 and above), matching them with suitable volunteering opportunities as per their skills and interest.
Volunteer Centre Barnet is accredited by Volunteering England to fulfil 6 core functions - brokerage, marketing, good practice development, developing volunteering opportunities, policy response & campaigning, and strategic development The volunteer centre is part of CommUNITY Barnet and we work in partnership with Greater London Volunteering, Barnet Council, Pro- Active North London, Youth and Connexions and Barnet Sports Development team.

The Volunteer Centre runs regular training events on various aspects of Volunteer Management. In addition to that every quarter we host the 'Volunteer Coordinators Forum' for Volunteer Coordinators and Managers from the various voluntary and community groups in Barnet, to share and discuss some of the key points around good practices related to Volunteer Management. GLV’s - Experts in Volunteering Programme
Volunteer Centre Barnet hosts the ‘North London Development Worker' for Greater London Volunteering (GLV) Expert in Volunteering Programme. ‘Experts in Volunteering' are working closely with London based volunteer centres and voluntary involving organisations to provide an increased level of support and guidance around volunteer management. Organisations can sign up to a London Charter that declares their commitment to good practice in volunteer management, and will have the opportunity to access one to one support, training and resources, and action learning sets. And most importantly, it's free!

'MAKE A DIFFERENCE!' Introduction to Volunteering Course
Free 6 Week Course delivered by Barnet College in Partnership with Volunteer Centre Barnet
Length of Course: 6 weeks
Date: Tuesdays - Starts 21 February 2012
Time: 10am to 12.30pm
Location: Rainbow Community Centre, Dollis Valley Way, Barnet
Your will:
